Cornudella de Montsant
Cornudella de Montsant is in a privileged place. You have many activities to do, discover this land without rushing!
If you like climbing, hiking, biking, swimming, mountain running… this is the place for you. But Cornudella de Montsant, apart from being able to boast of its magnificent natural values, has an extraordinary cultural, gastronomic, and wine tourism heritage that is well worth knowing and discovering.
Here is a taste of the places you can visit…
Montsant
The Sierra de Montsant, declared a Natural Park in 2002, is a symbol of the Priorat and the Tarragona region. To enter you must choose a degree, that is, one of the steps to overcome the cliffs. Some are relatively comfortable, followed by horseshoe paths, and others that only allow people to pass, very airy and often catchy. Montsant offers many excursions, of all levels, but also an important climbing school recognized internationally. At the Park’s information points you will find maps, reviews and all the information you need. For more information visit the Serra Montsant Natural Park website
Siurana
The hermitage of Sant Joan del Codolar, at the foot of Montsant, is integrated into the land-scape between pebbles and centuries-old cypresses. It can be reached on foot from Cor-nudella or Albarca, but also by car via a paved track.
Cornudella Cooperative Winery
Modernist building, almost a century old, by the architect Cèsar Martinell, a disciple of Antoni Gaudí. It can be visited every Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon, with wine tasting included.
Montsant Natura organizes different wine tourism activities related to this winery and others, with reduced rates for groups. You can find more information on the Centre d’Activitats website or by calling +34 977821313.
Siurana Reservoir
Set in beautiful surroundings, the Siurana Swamp is an ideal place for swimming and water activities such as canoeing or kayaking.
Escaladei cartouche (s. XII-XIX)
It is a must visit for all those who want to take a trip to the origins of the Priorat region. It can be visited for free or through a guided tour. You can try more information on the Carthusian Monastery of Escaladei website or consult prices and times by calling +34 977827006.
